Why apparel details matter
Apparel sourcing in China requires more detail than a photo and target price. Fabric, size, fit, stitching, labels, color, and packaging can all change the result.
Confirm fabric type and weight
Useful details include composition, GSM, stretch, thickness, texture, lining, transparency, and whether the buyer has a reference sample. If hand feel matters, a physical swatch or sample is often needed.
Prepare a size chart
A size chart should include key measurements, tolerance, target market, and whether the product is slim, regular, relaxed, or oversized. Vague sizing often leads to repeated sample revisions.
Review fit sample points
Fit should be checked on a sample or reference garment where possible. Compare length, width, sleeve, shoulder, waist, hip, inseam, or other key points depending on the garment.

Check trims and workmanship
Buttons, zippers, elastic, drawstrings, embroidery, printing, labels, seams, thread color, and finishing should be confirmed before bulk production.
Confirm apparel packaging
Apparel often needs size labels, care labels, brand labels, hang tags, poly bags, SKU stickers, and carton marks. Confirm file format, position, language, quantity per carton, and whether sizes or colors are mixed.
